Our Business Timeline
Empiric’s Early Growth and Expansion
Empiric was founded in 1998 as a small buying house with just three staff members, initially trading 500,000 pieces of T-shirts annually and serving markets in Europe. The following year, in 1999, the company took a significant step forward by opening its first factory, equipped with 50 machines. As a result, this expansion allowed Empiric to double its production to about 1 million pieces per year, while simultaneously growing its workforce to 100 employees and 10 staff members, continuing to focus primarily on the European market.
Empiric’s Strategic Expansion and Entry into the US Market
By 2002, Empiric expanded its operations further, adding more machinery to bring the total to 80 machines. It increased the company’s production capacity about 1.5 million pieces per year, supported by a workforce of 150 employees and 20 staff members. This period also marked Empiric’s entry into the US market, in addition to its existing European clientele.
Major Expansion and Global Market Reach
In 2005, Empiric underwent a major expansion by acquiring another compound, thereby bringing the total number of machines to 160 and solidifying its position as one of the top Garment Manufacturer in Bangladesh. Consequently, this expansion boosted production to about 3 million T-shirts annually and increased the workforce to 300 employees and 30 staff members. Furthermore, the company’s market reach expanded significantly, now covering Asia, Europe, and the USA.
Consolidation and Increased Production Capacity
In 2012, Empiric strategically consolidated its operations by moving into a new, larger compound, thus leaving behind the previous facilities. This new location housed 200 machines, thereby enabling the company to increase its production to about 4 million pieces of T-shirts annually. Concurrently, the workforce also grew to 400 employees and 40 staff members, while the company continued to effectively serve its markets in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
Launch of Empiric Fashion Attires and Brand Establishment in Malaysia
In 2013, Empiric launched its own brand, “Empiric Fashion Attires,” in Malaysia. Subsequently, the brand quickly gained traction, establishing a showroom, warehouses, and a headquarters in Malaysia, and gradually gaining recognition throughout the country.
Successful Brand and Future Expansion Plans
By 2024, Empiric Fashion Attires had become a successful brand, generating approximately $2 million in annual turnover from its operations in Malaysia. Looking ahead, the company is now planning to open a new branch in the USA, thus continuing its growth and expansion on a global scale.
